The Flinto Class curriculum is an integrated and holistic learning program inspired by the best of Waldorf, John Dewey, Multiple Intelligence and Play-way learning systems.
Flinto provides educational activity boxes to each child that caters to the holistic development of a child. Flinto aims at getting kids engaging with meaningful activities. It also aims to change the way children learn.
A book is a gift you can open again and again. A book fair day was organized in our school on
July 13th and a wide range of different types of books were exhibited by Harshini books and Scholastic.
Reading program is to foster a love for reading and it stimulates comprehensive knowledge at an early age.
Reading day is a part of our reading program where parents actually get to witness the nursery children reading.
Reading cards with comprehensive questions are used during the library period from 1st to 5th grade to create enjoyment in reading for pleasure and to develop new ideas and vocabulary.
A book is analyzed based on content & style by the students above 6th grade to write a book review. It will help the students to improve reading, writing and thinking skills.
How else can you teach democracy without a school election? School election is an opportunity to develop leadership by organizing & carrying out school activities and service projects.

Our school organized a Carnival for charity on the school premises on 1st Dec. The event was a grand success. Excited students enjoyed at the games stalls, swayed at the dance floor for peppy dance numbers. The stalls put up by the students were showcasing their artistic and creative abilities. Food stalls were indeed a crowd puller. The money raised from the Carnival for charity was donated to IMAGE home for the construction of a Dining Hall.
Competitions play an important role in motivating students to perform and excel. Various competitions were conducted like Drawing, Budget Making, Elocution, Fancy Dress, Vegetable Carving, Reading, Quiz, Debate, etc at different levels with an aim to gain substantial experience, showcase skills, analyze and evaluate outcomes & uncover personal aptitude.
Through festivals and celebrations we express our happiness. Our school celebrates all the festivals like Pongal, Bakrid, Onam, Navarathri, Krishna Jayanthi, Ganesh Chaturthi, Christmas, Independence day, Gandhi Jayanthi, Republic day, Teacher’s day, Children ‘s day with great zeal and enthusiasm.Field trips are a vital requirement of the student’s educational curriculum. Field trips are important to help bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and hands-on experience. The students were taken to different types of farms, Cardamom processing unit, Pennycuick memorial, Milk chilling unit, Neem cake factory, Praaja fruit juice manufacturing unit, coir industry, mushroom growing unit. Picnics were also organized for all class in the third term.
Yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition. It embodies the unity of mind and body thought & action. A holistic approach to health and well-being. “Yoga for Peace” was the theme for 2018. The students and teachers of Fairlands performed sitting and standing asanas on June 21st.
Regular practice of yoga will surely help our students to achieve a better life, physically, mentally & spiritually as well.
In-House students training throughout the year is a spark that we need to develop our personality. A thriving, positive school culture makes all the difference. Our incredible team of speakers had crafted messages & presentation to motivate students to lead and to guide them along the way.
An impressive and creative session with Mr. Leo Fernandes, a handwriting instructor and calligrapher, on “Basics in calligraphy” was useful.
An interactive session with MR. Pravin Kumar Sadasivam, CIO of Pricol and Mrs. Maheswari of Pioneer properties on ‘Woman Entrepreneurship’ was motivating.
To explore the wonder of the universe we had a thrilling experience with SpaceTrek Planetarium that acts as a simulated spaceship.
RYLA camp was conducted by Rotary club.
Praveen Vyas, Psychologist and lead trainer of live life education, had a session on “Developing Leadership Qualities and integration of 7 habits” for 8th to 10th.
An informative session with Mrs.Rasheeda Banu on “Teenagers issues” had strengthened the students mentally.

Our school has introduced a new program “Leader In Me,” which is integrated into our curriculum, every day. It is not a “Program” it is a philosophy of how to live life. It is Franklin Covey’s whole-school transformation process. It teaches 21st-century leadership and life skills to students and creates a culture of empowerment based on the idea that every child can be a leader. Our teachers are trained every month on it and we also have a light house team. Stephen Covey’s 7 habits ‘Leader In Me program’ was conducted for our school drivers, conductors, and caretakers by the lighthouse team. It was such a great pleasure in motivating them to become effective people.

Based on this thought, our staff club “Anandham” had donated the amount of Rs.10000 for constructing a building for IMAGE home.
Spiritual training and practicing Sudharshana Kriya benefits the overall health of all teachers.
Our club has organized periodical training programs for teachers, as teachers are the backbone of our society. These training programs play a great role in sculpturing our teachers.
Workshops for English and math were conducted in Madurai by MSSC, Scholastic and Kitscon to develop language and numerical skills.
Workshop for nursery teachers was conducted by Flinto and Om Sadhana school conducted “Physical development activities for nursery” on 15th September.
Workshop on Classroom Management was conducted by CBSE in Madurai on 16th November to develop the classroom managing skills and techniques, to keep students organized and academically productive.
CEO of Flinto, Mr. Arun’s session on “Play and its impact on the brain development of kids” was motivational.
An inspirational session with Dr. Kannan Gireesh, CEO of live life education was held on 7th June and 8th September and Mr. Praveen Vyas, Psychologist and lead trainer of live life education, on “developing leadership qualities and integration of 7 habits, is held in our school from time to time.
These sessions provided our teachers with the knowledge, experience, and guidance.
Success is where preparation and opportunity meet. Many students participated in various sports that were held in various cities of Madurai district and bagged accolades.

Our school hosted its 12th annual sports meet on September 22nd with great gusto. The children enthusiastically displayed the drills with colorful costumes and swift movements offering a visual treat to the applauding audience. The parade of the 4 houses with the school band was highly appreciated.
Sports and games curriculum is an integral and compulsory part of our education process. Just as sails help the boat to go in the right direction, so is the guidance of our Chairman Mr. VinayagaMoorthy & our Correspondent Mrs. Deepalakshmi. We thank you, sir, for gifting us with this exclusive & conducive sports complex. It’s like a dream come true for every student here.
Our sports infrastructure is one of the state-of-the-art facility. Our sports facilities include volleyball court, International size basket ball court, Skating rink, 200 meter track with a proper drainage system, a football ground, Kho-Kho court, and provision for all the jumps and throws. We will soon be having a Kabadi court, Gym, badminton and cricket nets too.It is health that is real wealth and not the pieces of gold and silver.
There’s nothing more important than good health. Health check-up is conducted every year. We had Ophthalmologists from Aravind Eye Hospital to examine the students. ENT and Dental camps were also organized. A dengue awareness program was conducted in school and nilavembu decoction was provided to the students. Vaccinations are given duly in our school by Pudupatti Primary Health Centre.
Innovation is the calling card of the future
Innovation helps to engage students in innovative and creative activities apart from providing opportunities for Hands-on activities. The key and immediate objective of the Innovation day is to create awareness, educate, nurture and inculcate a culture of innovation amongst school children and to enable them to generate new ideas and become more innovative. Innovation for young minds was held on 23rd and 27th February. Our students were grouped into different clubs based on their interest like Pottery, Art and Craft, Robotics, Astronomy, humanities, science, social, math, language, sports.
Interact club of Fairlands has done a tremendous job towards social service. Interact club promotes the opportunity to network with other members both locally and internationally. Members also have opportunities to develop leadership skills, understand the importance of responsibility and promote international awareness. Students learn the importance of serving others, showing respect and developing personal integrity.
Haritha is the President of the Interact club and we consider that this year was a successful year of appreciable events.
We had the installation of the members for the Interact club on 20th July. We raised a sum of Rs.185000 from the Carnival for charity held in our school and donated to IMAGE home for the construction of a building.
Interact club and Entrepreneurship club of Fairlands raised and contributed an amount of Rs.60000 towards The Chief Minister’s for Kerala flood relief & Rs 38000 for the Gaja cyclone relief.

Our 5th to 10thgraders celebrated Diwali with the special children of RUADT, RTU, and IMAGE.
Our contribution to charity is yet to continue.
This club aims to teach students life skills through the intelligent application of astronomy and space science concepts. The club brings the students closer to the environment through its astronomy based outdoor activities. It inculcates a scientific temper and the love for science and astronomy amongst the students.
The club conducted an outreach program in KLSS government school on basics of astronomy.
A different session like Mars Quest, Planets Tours festival, Constellation stories, etc., were conducted to gain knowledge about celestial bodies.
For any learner to become all-round, they ought to be equipped with a variety of skills. Entrepreneurship club provides an avenue through which learners can acquire skills to cope with life outside school, either on the labor market or for job creation. The club comprises students who are passionate about entrepreneurship. They have established a small business of selling jewelry accessories, Rakhis and food. And again each stall set up during this year has contributed towards charity from their profit. Our school empowers students with skills to innovate and employ themselves.
We all know that we are part of the environment we live in. And the solution to many environmental problems lie in our attitude towards environment. Awareness to keep our surroundings clean or the realization to conserve natural resources by re-using and recycling wherever possible, they all are attitudinal. But changing the attitudes of 100 crore people is not going to happen overnight. The best way to attempt to bring about a change in the attitudes in the society is through children. They are impressionable and our future.
Eco club will empower students to participate and take up meaningful environmental activities and projects. It is a forum through which students can reach out to influence neighborhood communities to promote sound environmental behavior.
It was installed on 13th July, where students organized seminars, debates and popular talks on environmental issues in the school.
We Organized rallies at public places with a view to spread environmental awareness.
Action based activities like tree plantation, cleaning the nearest environment within and outside the school campus were also undertaken by the club
This club grows organic kitchen gardens, maintain vermi-composting pits, practice paper re-cycling, etc.
It also organised awareness programs to propagate personal hygiene habits like washing hands before meals to the school students.
